A PERFECT DAY WITH MY MAN & MARILYN

Today I had a lovely day out in Bath with my man! We visited the "Marilyn - Hollywood Icon" exhibition at The American Museum in Britain.

It was a stunning collection of twenty of her original film costumes and some personal items too seen for the first time in the UK. As a huge Marilyn fan and a trained costume designer this was a dream come true and really special for me. I could not recommend it highly enough for any Marilyn fan or fan of period costume.

We then headed to Broad Street Tattoo for Dave to get a new tattoo! It took 3 hours and looked painful! here is a wee lookie:

We finished the day off with AMAZING sausages from The Sausage Shop in Bath! Now I must get to bed as I fly to Milan in the morning!

MISSY MALONE & FRIENDS BURLESQUE REVUE - MINI TOUR!

Last Friday saw "The Missy Malone & Friends Burlesque Revue" www.missymaloneandfriends.com hit the road for a mini tour! On Friday 14th Oct we were at The Voodoo Rooms in Edinburgh and on Saturday 15th  Oct we were at Darlington Arts Center. The Cast included Leyla Rose, Cat Aclysmic, Velma Von Bon Bon, Amelie Soleil, and Des O'Connor. 

We traveled 869 miles over the weekend and both shows were full houses! I am delighted that we are now touring the show around the UK. We also managed to fit in a performance at Dr Sketchy's Newcastle on Sunday!

CABARET NEW BURLESQUE!

Yesterday I had the privilege of attending the fantastic "Cabaret New Burlesque" show at Charing Cross 

Theater in London. www.cabaretsnewburlesque.com.

For those not in the know (shame on you!) this is a AMAZING show with a cast of the biggest names in Burlesque from the US (Via France!) and also the stars of award winning film "Tournee". Mimi Le Meaux, Kitten on The Keys, Dirty Martini, Evie Lovelle, Julie Atlas Muz and Roky Roulette!

I am lucky enough to call some of these stunning performers friends (I went on tour alongside Mimi, Kitten and The Damned in 2007 and Dirty Martini appeared in a short run of  "Missy Malone & Friends Burlesque Revue - Halloween Special" in 2010) and it was so lovely to catch up with them and meet Julie & Roky whom I had not yet had the pleasure until last night!

Before the nights entertainment I managed to squeeze in a photo call for Volupte for their Christmas promo with my good pal and hostess with the mostess Cherry Shakewell. We then enjoyed dinner by the Thames before the cracking show!

20TH CENTURY FOXY AUTUMN/WINTER SHOOT!

Yesterday I traveled over to Banbury to shoot some of the Autumn/Winter Collection for the lovely 20th Century Foxy www.20thcenturyfoxy.com.

There are some stunning new designs and prints including a few of my particular fave leopard print! Here is a sneak preview:

BUSY OLD WEEK!

Wowee! What a busy week that was! (and there is no sign of it letting up for about 2 weeks!!)

Continuing on from the last blog on Thursday I was delighted to be back performing at the Greene Room in Milton Keynes (this time minus the food poisoning!) I was performing alongside the lovely Carrie Ann and the Resident Dolls. I will be back performing on the 27th Oct!

 On Friday I taught my Fandance workshop to the lovely ladies of The Mirage Bellydance Studio in Cheltenham. It was a very fun lively class and it turned into a party afterwards!

Then yesterday I went down to Devon to support Dave take on the 10K Commando Challenge 2011. I was the official photographer and cheerleader for the day! The team consisted of Dave, Will, James and Chris. They completed the challenge in 1h33mins. Congratulations to them all! It looked like a rough ride, here are some snaps:

THE BURLESQUE SHOW - CHELTENHAM

Yesterday I had the pleasure of guest performing in "The Burlesque Show" (touring MoB show) in my home town of Cheltenham! It was held in the newly renovated main auditorium of the Everyman Theater which was stunning! The Everyman obviously has a special place in my heart as it is where the "Missy Malone & Friends Burlesque Revue" was born.

The cast was a fantastic group of performers, most of whom I have known for many years now so it was really lovely to hang out with everyone! The line up included: Kiki Kaboom, Elle Amour, Dolores Delight, Fancy Chance, Mat Ricardo, Jim Devereaux, Elliot Mason, Paul Zenon! (& of course producers Kittie Klaw & James).

CASTINGS, WEDDINGS & SHOWS!

Last Thursday I caught the train up to Edinburgh for a weekend of castings, weddings and shows! As soon as I arrived in Edinburgh I headed straight to a casting for a Scottish shoe designer's summer 2012 collection. Unfortunately my feet proved not to be model material! Damn my dancers feet!

On Friday I attended my cousin's wedding at the beautiful Water Lily venue in West Lothian. It was a perfect sunny day and a really lovely wedding! Congratulations Steven & Mary!

On Saturday I spent the day at "Judy's Vintage Fair" in Edinburgh with my Mama. We picked up a few bargains and enjoyed some lovely fresh food!

Saturday night I was performing at the wonderful club night "Vegas" 14th Birthday Party! I have performed at Vegas for many years and always LOVE performing there! There where many familiar faces and it was great to catch up with everyone!

I spent Sunday travelling home (with some company this time!! My very good friend Tim!)  and having a relaxed night in with Dave! Below is a article in Edinburgh/Glasgow lifestyle magazine The Skinny exploring the Cabaret revival and I am delighted to get a mention and photo included!
