THRIFTER

Hello my name is Missy and I am a Carboot Sale addict...

Today just proved how mad I am about them when I soldiered on in the HAMMERING rain to my local carboot sale to dig for treasure while soaked to the skin! Was it worth it? Always!

I am a collector and lover of all things 1950's and I love nothing more than finding gems for only peanuts at carboots, charity shops and ebay. I am not a big spender (where is the fun in that!?) and today's haul cost a total of £12.00 for seven items! And here is a little look at what I found today!

1950's Plastic Light Shade and two "Wot Not" shelves.
A lovely 1950's Kidney Table
A 1950's European Studio Pottery Bowl
Vintage Tomato Juice Glasses

This year I am delighted to be performing exclusively for "Comic Strip" in the beautiful "Salon Elegance" Spiegeltent! I have just returned from performing at the opening weekend and I will be returning on the 14th Aug for another ten dates! If you are up in Edinburgh, come and see the show!! It is a mix of the best burlesque and stand up comics on the Fringe! Including the awesome creators of the show Gypsy Wood and Asher Treleaven!

HOTROD HAYRIDE!

So last weekend I had the pleasure of attending and performing at the AWESOME "Hotrod Hayride" Weekender! www.hotrodhayride.com

It was my first year at the Hayride and it was truly my favourite weekender to date! I was there Frid/Sat/Sun and was accompanied by my Dave. We were also very lucky with the weather and had glorious sunshine right up until the Sunday afternoon!

I was performing on the Friday night on the Main Stage and again on Saturday night in the "Circus Tent". It was also great to catch up with fellow performers/friends Anna Fur Laxis and Amelie Soleil who were also performing over the weekend!

Here is a little photo diary of my wonderful weekend! Including some of my fave cars, bikes and paintwork!

SATURDAY 28TH

On Saturday we slapped on our suncream and headed into the woods for the "Hill Climb" which was really good fun to watch!

My vintage western circle skirt matched with
Vivien of Holloway halter top!

We also managed to catch the Demon Drome "Wall of Death" for the second time (first time we saw them was at the 1st Vintage Festival back in 2010). They certainly did not disappoint!! They had added some new elements to their show, like a live band in the centre and a car going round too!! I screamed in horror when one of the riders crashed, but luckily he was ok and carried on as though nothing had happened!

SUNDAY 29TH

Bright and early on Sunday morning we headed to the carboot sale in search of treasures (one of my fave past times)! Then watched the Soapbox Derby which was hilarious before we hit the road for home!

My Carboot goodies!

It was a really well organised and thoroughly entertaining weekend and I will definitely be back and recommending it to everyone!

HUGE thanks to Anna and Jerry for having me!
