MILANO

On Friday last week I flew to Milan for the weekend to perform at Voodoo De Luxe's "Royal Burlesque Revue". As I have mentioned before I have worked with Voodoo De Luxe for 4 years now and consider them close friends so these shows are always a real treat and very special to me!

When I arrived on Friday evening I went for a lovely relaxed dinner with some of my Italian (and Swiss and English!) friends at an amazing restaurant! I ordered a Risotto that was cooked in the biggest block of Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese I have ever seen! and they set it on fire too! It was the perfect way to spend my first evening in Milan!

HUGE CHEESE!
Chocolate & Pear Tart
Steve, Franca, Me, Virgil & Luca.....and the restaurant owner!
On Saturday I had a rare free afternoon in Milan before the show so I wandered around and saw the sights! One thing I really love about Milan is the modern pop culture images that sit side by side with ancient architecture and art. Here are some examples:

The Duomo

St Bernadino Alle Ossa

That evening I headed to the venue "Salon Parisien" for the show! The line up included Cherilyn Chic Shake and the Awesome Kitten De Ville! I was delighted to see Kitten again as it had been a year since we last worked together so we had a fun time catching up and making mischief! Here are some behind the scenes peeks:

Sound check at the venue
Backstage!
Rider!
The Voodoo Crew - Kitten, Ivan, Me, Virgil, Sara & Cherilyn!

I was also super excited to premier my new act "The Mating Ritual" and everything went to plan! It is always nerve racking to perform an act for the very first time! Here is some lovely photos from my three performances that night:

Finale!
After the show there was more dancing on the dance floor and then a early morning to a diner! We got back to the hotel at 7am!

Me & Ivan Jiving .....I'm getting there!

Late night Pizza!
Settling Up!
I flew home the next afternoon and it has taken me till now too recover from such a fun Italian weekend!
Thanks to all involved!
